Diana
was alone and she had to make a new life for herself. She knew many rich and
famous people, but she did not only want to spend time with them. She wanted a
normal life and she wanted to help the poor and sick.
Diana
also wanted to help people in other countries. She was very worried about
landmines. Many counties use landmines in wars. Landmines are very dangerous.
Many people did not know about landmines and Diana wanted to tell the world
about them. She talked to the British Red Cross and, in January 1997, she went
to Angola for the Red Cross. There was terrible war in Angola and there were
many landmines in that country. She worked hard and visited dangerous places,
but she was not afraid. In the UK, in May 1997, Diana also wanted to help
people with eating problems and she made a speech. ‘I don’t have problems with
bulimia any more,’ she said.
